Considered care.
Personal to you.
General skin care begins with examining the symptoms and medical history. MICHIKO’s service information includes assessment of selected skin growths, raised scars, fungal concerns, dermatitis and hair loss. The appropriate treatment, testing or specialist referral depends on the diagnosis.

The next stepMICHIKO · YOUR QUESTIONS, EXPLAINED
Not every growth should be removed solely because it is visible. A lesion that changes in size, shape or colour, bleeds or does not heal needs assessment first. The clinician will discuss whether removal is suitable and whether pathology or referral is needed. The approach should preserve the ability to diagnose a suspicious lesion.
Raised scars differ from depressed acne scars. The history of the wound, symptoms, growth pattern and previous response help determine the options. Injection or other treatment may be considered, but recurrence can occur and repeated review may be needed. Tell the doctor if you have previously formed keloids before choosing any elective procedure.
Different conditions can look similar. A fungal rash, eczema, contact allergy and irritation do not necessarily need the same cream. Avoid repeatedly using an unidentified mixed cream or steroid without a diagnosis. Bring photographs showing the rash at its worst and the names of treatments already used. Testing may be appropriate when the diagnosis is unclear.
Gradual thinning, sudden shedding, patchy loss and an inflamed scalp are different patterns. Illness, medicines, nutritional issues, hormonal factors and scalp conditions may contribute. Assessment may include further tests or referral; one injection or supplement should not be presented as the answer to every type of hair loss.
Note when the concern started, symptoms such as itch or pain, changes over time and anything that helps or worsens it. Bring current medicines, allergies and previous treatment details. Rapidly spreading redness with fever, severe pain, eye involvement or a serious allergic reaction needs urgent medical care rather than waiting for a routine appointment.
WHY MICHIKO
Dr. Gift and our medical team start with symptoms and history, explain the likely next step and recognise when testing or referral is needed. That medical assessment comes before a cosmetic recommendation.
Describe what has changed and what you hope to improve. The assessment comes before a programme recommendation.
LISTEN
Compare the approaches that fit your assessment. Understand what each can improve, where its limits lie and whether a simpler first step would suit you.
ASSESS
Discuss the exact method or product, expected benefit, limits, risks and total cost. There is time to decide and room to choose a simpler plan.
PLAN
Know your aftercare, review timing and how to contact the team. Your response helps shape the next step.
CARE
MICHIKO · A CLOSER LOOK
Bring details of previous procedures, current medicines and supplements, allergies and any recent skin reaction. Tell the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Mention work, travel and event dates so the plan can account for recovery and follow-up. Do not stop prescribed medicines without advice.
Follow the diagnosis-specific plan, including how to use medicines and when to return. Do not share prescriptions or use an old mixed cream for a new rash. Seek prompt care if symptoms spread rapidly, become painful or are accompanied by fever.
Agree on a review point and the change you are hoping to see. Your response, side effects and priorities should guide the next step. Ask for a clear quote covering the proposed product or method, quantity where relevant, and follow-up.
BEFORE YOU VISIT
Photos can help triage and show changes over time, but may not replace an examination or testing.
Not always. A diagnosis, further information, a test or referral may be needed before treatment.
Have it examined first. The safest next step depends on whether further diagnostic assessment is needed.
