Local fullness
The assessment distinguishes fat from muscle, skin laxity, swelling or a lump.

Considered care.
Personal to you.
Fat Killer is MICHIKO’s programme name for localised fat concerns. Care for localised fat may involve injections or controlled cooling. These are different methods, not one interchangeable treatment. The doctor must assess the area, skin quality and health history, then identify the exact product or device before discussing benefit and risk.

Method and recoveryMICHIKO · YOUR QUESTIONS, EXPLAINED
Fullness at the chin or cheeks raises different questions from fat around the arms, abdomen or thighs. First establish whether the concern is fat, loose skin or another tissue change. Injection-based and cooling-based approaches have different indications; a method suitable for one area may be inappropriate for another. A new or painful lump, unexplained swelling or a medical weight concern needs assessment before a cosmetic contouring plan.
The exact ingredient, permitted indication and area of use are essential. Products marketed as fat dissolvers are not interchangeable, and a programme name does not establish regulatory approval. Injections can cause swelling, pain, bruising, infection, skin injury, nodules and nerve-related complications. Do not assume that an injectable will also tighten the skin. Ask the clinician to explain the product and the alternatives.
Cooling-based body contouring uses a device to target selected fat deposits without an injection into the area. Suitability depends on the device, area and medical history, including cold-related conditions. Possible effects include redness, numbness, tenderness and bruising. Rarely, a treated area can enlarge instead of shrink, a complication known as paradoxical adipose hyperplasia. The clinician should explain device-specific risks and follow-up.
Swelling after an injection and temporary changes after cooling can make early comparisons misleading. Photographs, measurements when appropriate and a scheduled review are more useful than an immediate promise of centimetres lost. The timeline depends on the method and individual response. Stable weight and a realistic expectation about skin laxity matter.
The consultation should identify the area, proposed product or device, number of treatments, total cost and what to do if symptoms worsen. Tell the team about previous procedures, medicines, pregnancy, breastfeeding, hernias near the area and cold-related disorders where relevant. Increasing pain, skin colour change, fever or unusual swelling warrants prompt assessment.
WHY MICHIKO
MICHIKO begins by identifying what is creating the contour concern, then explains the difference between injection and cooling options. Dr. Gift and our medical team discuss realistic change, skin quality and follow-up before a treatment course is chosen.
Describe what has changed and what you hope to improve. The assessment comes before a programme recommendation.
LISTEN
Compare the approaches that fit your assessment. Understand what each can improve, where its limits lie and whether a simpler first step would suit you.
ASSESS
Discuss the exact method or product, expected benefit, limits, risks and total cost. There is time to decide and room to choose a simpler plan.
PLAN
Know your aftercare, review timing and how to contact the team. Your response helps shape the next step.
CARE
MICHIKO · A CLOSER LOOK
Bring details of previous procedures, current medicines and supplements, allergies and any recent skin reaction. Tell the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Mention work, travel and event dates so the plan can account for recovery and follow-up. Do not stop prescribed medicines without advice.
Aftercare differs between cooling and injections. Follow the instructions for your procedure and avoid self-massage unless advised. Keep the planned review and contact the clinic about unusual swelling, skin changes, persistent numbness or increasing pain.
Agree on a review point and the change you are hoping to see. Your response, side effects and priorities should guide the next step. Ask for a clear quote covering the proposed product or method, quantity where relevant, and follow-up.
BEFORE YOU VISIT
The names may overlap in informal use, but this programme also describes cooling. Ask for the exact method and product rather than assuming the names mean the same procedure.
That cannot be guaranteed. Skin laxity needs its own assessment and may remain after a change in fat volume.
No. Responses vary, and rare paradoxical enlargement is a recognised complication of some cooling treatments. Discuss the device-specific evidence and risks.
